Out of the Ashes:
An Ode to Birds
My drawing celebrates my love of Australian birdlife along with the raw, beautiful resilience of the Australian landscape. My father’s home in Bundanoon NSW was surrounded by bushfires in 2020. I used charcoal found after the fires & leaves collected to create the marks & plant dye applied to the paper
